China Nuclear Power Report 2026: 2025 Output Hits 485.2 Billion kWh, Up 7.6%

In 2025, national nuclear power generation reached 485.2 billion kWh, up 7.6% year-on-year, accounting for 4.6% of total national power generation and 11.4% of non-fossil energy generation. The figures come from the China Nuclear Power Development Report (2026) released by the National Energy Administration.

Nationally, nuclear power units averaged 7,809 utilization hours, with a load factor of 89.1%, up 126 hours year-on-year. By province, Fujian's nuclear power generation accounted for 28.1% of its provincial generation, ranking first; Liaoning, Hainan, and Guangdong followed at 20.9%, 18.5%, and 16.9%, respectively.
