Netflix Sets Seven-Episode Limited Series East of Eden for October 1, 2026

East of Eden, a seven-episode television adaptation of John Steinbeck's novel, will launch on October 1, 2026. The limited series places its focus on the character Cathy.

East of Eden is a novel written in 1952 by Steinbeck, an American author and Nobel Prize laureate. It depicts the fortunes of two immigrant families from the American Civil War to the end of World War I.

The Hamilton family in the novel is modeled on the real family of Steinbeck's maternal grandfather, Samuel Hamilton. Adam Trask is the representative figure of the other family.
