Data from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association show that in the first half of 2026, 12,362 nonferrous metal enterprises above a designated size generated combined revenue of RMB 5.77 trillion, up 21.7% year on year, with total profits reaching RMB 418.39 billion, a surge of 94.0%.

In the basic chemicals sector, interim disclosures are nearing completion, with the recovery gaining further momentum. As of 11 p. m. on August 30, 282 listed basic chemical companies had published their half-year reports, posting combined revenue of RMB 1.22 trillion, up 11.9% year on year, and attributable net profit of RMB 80.98 billion, an increase of 86%. Overall profitability in the sector has improved markedly compared with the same period in 2025.
