SpaceX Wins About USD 40 Million UK Satellite Services Order

SpaceX has received about USD 40 million from the UK government to provide satellite services, with the UK becoming the first country outside the United States to publicly confirm adoption of Starshield. Documents show the Ministry of Defence is buying about 1,000 Starshield terminals and 500 Starlink terminals for about GBP 29.5 million, equivalent to USD 39.9 million. SpaceX did not respond.

The UK thereby became the first country outside the United States to publicly confirm the adoption of Starshield. Starshield is a service built by SpaceX for military and intelligence missions, while Starlink mainly serves ordinary consumers and commercial customers.
