Steel Structure Building Industry Chain Innovation Conference Held in Tangshan
The second Steel Structure Building Industry Chain Innovation Achievement Exchange Conference took place in Tangshan on August 6-7. China MCC announced plans to develop third-generation high-efficiency assembly systems and other core technologies. The conference featured innovation reports from 10 units, an intention agreement signing for the Tangshan National Construction Technology Industry Base, and a product exhibition. The base covers 76,000 square meters.
The second Steel Structure Building Industry Chain Innovation Achievement Exchange Conference was held in Tangshan on August 6-7 under the theme "Innovation Leading, Integrated Development." The conference was organized by the China Iron and Steel Association, Metallurgical Corporation of China Limited (MCC), and the Strategic Alliance for Prefabricated Steel Structure Civil Building Industry Technology Innovation, and co-hosted by China 22MCC Group and the Hebei Steel Structure Industry Association. The event focused on promoting collaborative innovation across the entire steel structure building industry chain, covering areas such as comprehensive cost optimization, new material product development, smart construction and digital development, system optimization, and business model innovation, while facilitating the transformation and application of relevant innovative achievements.
Chen Yang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China MCC, said at the conference that as a central state-owned enterprise in the steel structure engineering sector, the company operates the National Steel Structure Engineering Technology Research Center and eight National Prefabricated Building Industry Bases, and has led the compilation of more than 30 national and industry technical standards. The company is focusing on developing core technologies including third-generation high-efficiency assembled composite systems, near-zero carbon steel structure residential buildings, modular construction, intelligent welding equipment, and construction industry internet platforms, and has already delivered multiple replicable demonstration projects. Its regional subsidiary China 22MCC is responsible for constructing the Tangshan National Construction Technology Industry Base and continues to provide technical and engineering support for regional industrial upgrading.
Xia Nong, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the China Iron and Steel Association, announced at the conference the establishment of a regular exchange platform for steel structure building industry chain innovation, along with improved mechanisms for collecting and promoting innovative achievements. The initiative aims to facilitate effective connections between innovation resources and application scenarios, and to accelerate the transformation of innovative achievements from laboratories to industrial application. The move is intended to support the high-quality development of the steel structure building industry and strengthen integration and collaborative innovation among upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain.
During the conference, 10 organizations from industry associations and enterprises presented innovation achievement reports on the development of the steel structure industry, with China 22MCC sharing its innovative results on intelligent H-type steel production lines. Shidai Real Estate Company signed intention cooperation agreements with representatives of enterprises planning to enter the Tangshan National Construction Technology Industry Base project. China 22MCC also held a steel structure building industry chain product exhibition, showcasing innovative achievements and products from multiple companies. Attendees visited the Tangshan National Construction Technology Industry Base to learn about its overall planning, operational model, and core construction technologies. The base has a total floor area of 76,000 square meters and is planned to include five core facilities: a technology innovation exhibition center, residential experience center, industry exhibition and sales center, one-household-one-build sample area, and a sunken vitality plaza, supporting the real-world experience of quality housing and the integration of urban renewal with industrial upgrading.
