The retail portion of the International Gateway Centre (IGC), a commercial development atop the West Kowloon terminus of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed rail in Tsim Sha Tsui, has been named Stage IGC. The five-storey complex has a gross floor area of over 600,000 sq ft and provides about 240 shops, with unit sizes ranging from several hundred sq ft to 10,000 sq ft. The project targets office workers in the area, young families, high-speed rail and airport express travellers, and arts and culture enthusiasts.
The tenant mix will introduce innovative and distinctive brands, and the mall will feature indoor and outdoor promotional spaces. Dining accounts for 30% of the retail mix, with rental rates benchmarked against other retail malls in the same district.
The mall will begin its first phase of soft opening at the end of the year, unveiling about 80,000 sq ft of retail space on the ground floor with approximately 40 shops. Given its connection to the high-speed rail station, this phase will focus on local brands and souvenirs, with dining outlets extending operating hours until 10:30 p. m. The remaining four floors are scheduled to become operational in the third quarter of next year.
Hong Kong's retail sales value recorded an 11% increase in the first half of 2026.
