Track Laying Begins on Shanghai-Nanjing Section of Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High-Speed Railway

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

Track laying has started on the Shanghai-Nanjing section of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed railway in Nantong, Jiangsu province. China Railway First Group is building the section, where the first pair of 500-meter rails was positioned. The roughly 554-kilometer line is designed for 350 km/h and will have 16 stations, forming part of the national Yangtze River corridor.

Track laying has officially begun on the Shanghai-Nanjing section of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed railway. At the construction site of the Tongtai-Yangtze River grand bridge in Nantong, Jiangsu province, the first pair of 500-meter rails was slowly pulled out by a track-laying machine and precisely positioned. The section is being built by China Railway First Group Co. , Ltd. , laying the foundation for subsequent track laying and full-line connectivity.

The Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed railway is an important component of the Yangtze River corridor within the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network, and forms the eastern section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu Yangtze River high-speed railway. The line is approximately 554 kilometers long, designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and will have 16 stations. In response to the large volume of track-laying work and frequent cross-operations, the construction team has deployed a smart cloud platform for track engineering and an intelligent control platform for track engineering transport management, conducting round-the-clock, full-trajectory monitoring of the operating status of work vehicles, achieving integrated control of dispatch command and risk warning, and ensuring safe and orderly construction.
