Xi'an-Ankang High-Speed Railway Enters Trial Operation After Commissioning
On August 13, the Xi'an-Ankang high-speed railway completed joint commissioning and testing and entered trial operation. The new 171-kilometer main line, designed for 350 kilometers per hour, forms part of the national high-speed rail network. Once open, travel time between Xi'an and Ankang will be cut from about three hours to under one hour, accelerating the formation of a one-hour economic circle between Guanzhong and southern Shaanxi and supporting rural revitalization in the Qinba mountain area.
On August 13, the Xi'an-Ankang high-speed railway completed joint commissioning and testing and officially entered the trial operation phase. The line is a key component of the Baotou (Yinchuan)-Hainan and Beijing-Kunming corridors under the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network outlined in China's medium- and long-term railway network plan. The new main line spans approximately 171 kilometers with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
Once the railway opens to traffic, travel time between Xi'an and Ankang will be reduced from about three hours to under one hour, accelerating the formation of a "one-hour economic circle" between the Guanzhong region and southern Shaanxi. The line will effectively improve passenger and freight transport services along its route, injecting new momentum into rural revitalization in the Qinba mountain area and local economic development.
