YMTC Enters Top Three in NAND Flash Shipments in Q2 2026, Ranks Fifth by Revenue

Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

In Q2 2026, YMTC became the world's third-largest NAND flash supplier by shipment volume with a 14% share, surpassing Kioxia for the first time. Its shipments rose 22% year-on-year and 5% quarter-on-quarter. Samsung led with 25%, followed by SK Hynix at 22% (13% own plus 9% from Solidigm). Micron and SanDisk held 13% and 11% respectively. YMTC ranked fifth by revenue, as its product mix skews to lower-priced client SSDs. Industry-wide, 48% of NAND shipments went to enterprise SSDs, up from 26% a year earlier, with total industry revenue up fivefold year-on-year.

In the second quarter of 2026, YMTC surpassed Kioxia for the first time to become the world's third-largest NAND flash supplier by total shipment volume, with a global market share of 14%. Its shipment volume grew 22% year-on-year and 5% quarter-on-quarter. Samsung Electronics led with a 25% share, followed by SK Hynix at 22%, comprising 13% from its own operations and 9% from acquired Solidigm. Micron held 13% and SanDisk 11%, ranking fourth and fifth respectively.

By revenue, YMTC ranked fifth in the industry, behind Micron and Kioxia. Its product mix is currently concentrated in client solid-state drives (cSSDs) with lower average selling prices, while its share of higher-priced enterprise SSDs (eSSDs) remains relatively low. In the second quarter of 2026, 48% of global NAND flash shipment volume went to the enterprise eSSD market, up from 26% in the same period of 2025. Industry-wide flash supply remained tight, with prices for client SSDs and UFS embedded flash products rising. Total NAND storage industry revenue grew fivefold year-on-year.

As AI applications shift from model training to inference, demand for high-speed, low-power storage solutions is increasing, with servers accounting for the majority of NAND shipments. YMTC plans to further tilt its product mix toward enterprise SSDs in the second half of 2026.
