2026 Financial Institutions Annual Conference Opens in Shenzhen With Seven Forums

The 2026 Financial Institutions Annual Conference opened in Shenzhen on September 10, featuring seven forums covering banking, securities, insurance, trusts and futures, with hundreds of industry participants. Zhu Jiang of the Shenzhen Local Financial Regulatory Bureau said the city's financial value added grew 10.6% in the first half of 2026, while 29 new IPOs raised more than RMB 100 billion during the year. The 2026 Financial Institutions Annual Conference opened in Shenzhen on September 10. Under the theme "Gathering Momentum, Planning for the Long Term, Striving for Renewal," the conference comprises seven forums: the banking annual conference, the securities investment banking forum, the insurance asset-liability management annual conference, the securities asset management forum, the trust industry development forum, the securities wealth brokerage forum and the futures annual conference. Several hundred industry participants from banking, insurance, securities, trusts and futures attended.

Zhu Jiang, deputy director of the Shenzhen Local Financial Regulatory Bureau, told the conference that Shenzhen's financial value added grew 10.6% in the first half of 2026, and that 29 new IPO companies raised more than RMB 100 billion during the year. Shenzhen has set the goal of building an industrial finance center and a technology finance center. In his address, Zhu mentioned major policy platforms including Qianhai and Hetao, as well as pilot areas such as cross-border RMB business, cross-border settlement and Cross-boundary Wealth Management Connect.

Zhang Jian, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Shenwan Hongyuan and general manager of Shenwan Hongyuan Securities; Ma Mingjun, secretary of the Party Committee and president of Bank of China Shenzhen Branch; and Liu Xiaochun, vice president of the Shanghai Finance Institute and vice president of the Gaijin Think Tank, also delivered keynote speeches at the conference. Remarks at the conference noted that the new "Nine National Guidelines" and the "1+N" policy system for the capital market have been fully implemented. Shenzhen is both a core engine of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and an important host city for the 2026 APEC meetings. The 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Shenzhen, focusing on the three priority areas of openness, innovation and cooperation.
