The 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade was held from September 8 to 11, 2026. The fair organized 52 project roadshows, each of which was fully attended, with many projects drawing attention from investment institutions. The visual Project Supermarket and the Table Host capital-project matchmaking zone set up inside the venue became the focus of the event.
The Project Supermarket selected more than 120 high-quality projects from across the country, displaying them on a wall in the form of visual tags classified by the color scheme of the 9+X tracks, forming a project waterfall wall. Investment institutions could scan a code or tap on site to obtain complete materials including project details, technological advantages, core teams and implementation scenarios, allowing them to browse intuitively and quickly identify tracks of interest.
The Table Host capital-project matchmaking zone featured leading securities firms, industrial funds and well-known venture capital institutions as dedicated table hosts, stationed on site by industry sub-track to receive high-quality projects by appointment. Investment institutions and heads of entrepreneurial projects held one-on-one in-depth discussions on core issues such as business models, technological barriers, implementation plans, financing needs, cooperation models and implementation policies.
The visual Project Supermarket and the Table Host capital-project matchmaking zone, newly introduced by the fair, are intended to connect investment and financing links both online and offline, enabling investment institutions to screen high-quality projects in bulk and providing a national-level platform for science and technology innovation projects across the country to engage directly with leading capital.
Mark Benedetti, co-chief executive officer of France-based Anlin Investment, said the firm has been deeply involved in the Chinese market for more than a decade and has witnessed China's progress in market support and the business environment for overseas investors and long-term capital, with continued high-level opening up prompting it to further increase its investment in China. He believes that global capital increasing its allocation to China is a long-term structural trend rather than short-term market behavior.
Chen Feng, executive chairman and chief executive officer of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, said that in recent years the country has vigorously promoted scientific and technological innovation, and that he has come into contact with a large number of global capital and consortiums that are particularly interested in industries such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, new materials and commercial aerospace in the mainland.
Zhao Ke, managing director of the investment banking department at CICC, noted that foreign capital has participated in innovation in China's AI industry through diversified means, with some leading overseas multinational companies cooperating with domestic AI enterprises through strategic investment, IPOs, cornerstone investment, joint ventures and industrial funds, among other methods.
