Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Releases 'AI+' Industry Action Initiative, 2025 GDP Near 12 Trillion Yuan

The 2026 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Supply Chain Promotion Conference was recently held, at which the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei 'AI+' industry action initiative was released, helping the region build a globally influential AI innovation highland and industrial collaborative development demonstration zone.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei achieved significant results in coordinated development. In 2025, the regional GDP approached 12 trillion yuan, surpassing three trillion-yuan thresholds in a row. Industrial transformation and upgrading accelerated, with the share of the tertiary industry rising rapidly and the share of high-tech manufacturing value-added continuing to increase.

The functions of the Beijing municipal administrative sub-center have been increasingly improved, with a number of major infrastructure projects completed and put into operation. Xiong'an New Area has entered a stage of simultaneous large-scale construction and undertaking of relocated functions, having taken over more than 400 centrally administered state-owned enterprises and institutions. Regional collaborative innovation vitality continues to strengthen, and the transportation network is efficiently connected.

At present, regional development is uneven, with Beijing's agglomeration effect being prominent. Industrial coordination is insufficient, with unclear industrial chain division and poor circulation. Administrative divisions have not yet been completely broken down, public service standards are not unified, and institutional and mechanism barriers still exist.

The 'Modern Capital Metropolitan Area Spatial Coordination Plan (2023-2035)' has been released. The plan aims to deepen regional linkages and integrate advantageous resources, promoting the formation of a development pattern of 'one core, two wings, two cities, multiple points, two corridors, multiple circles'.
