Canadian Investors Cut Overseas Securities in July 2026, Selling US Stocks

Data released on September 17, 2026 show that in July 2026 Canadian investors reduced their overseas securities investments, mainly by lowering their holdings of US stocks.

This was the sixth consecutive month of reductions in US government bonds. Since January 2026, Canadian investors have sold a cumulative CAD 37.3 billion in US government bonds.
