Published: Updated: By 24TopNews Editorial Desk

The Chengdu-Mianyang-Cangxi-Bazhong Expressway, built with the participation of China Railway 23rd Bureau Group, has opened in the mountainous region of northeastern Sichuan. The route ends the absence of expressway access in some localities, cuts travel times, and links with major road networks. Local authorities are developing expressway-driven cultural tourism and logistics models, with fruit growers reporting higher sales and incomes.

The Chengdu-Mianyang-Cangxi-Bazhong Expressway, built with the participation of China Railway 23rd Bureau Group, is located in the mountainous region of northeastern Sichuan. Since its opening, some localities along the route have ended their history of having no expressway access. Chen Rong, a resident of Wanghe town in Jiange county, previously had to take a long-distance bus and then detour for more than an hour on mountain roads when returning home; the roads had many bends and became slippery in rain, and he could not always make it home during holidays. Now the expressway reaches his doorstep, the road is flat, and the time needed to return home has been cut by more than half. The expressway is a backbone route in northeastern Sichuan's transport network and connects with several major road corridors.

Yang Xinglin, a fruit grower in Baiyi town, previously had to haul fruit to market before dawn. Mountain roads were difficult to travel, and even after most of the day he could not be sure of selling everything. Now the expressway exit is beside his orchard, and visitors from the city come directly to pick fruit, increasing sales and raising income substantially. Districts and counties along the route are developing an expressway economy and exploring models such as expressway plus cultural tourism and expressway plus logistics. The expressway links with several major road networks, forming a structure that connects the region externally and circulates traffic internally. The Daba Mountain area is connected to the regional road network through this expressway.
