China H1 2026 Ad Revenue Up 11.3% to RMB 1.037 Trillion, Internet Share 86%

In the first half of 2026, China's leading advertising enterprises generated RMB 1.037 trillion in revenue, up 11.3% year on year. Internet advertising accounted for 86% of total ad revenue, rising 25.3% to RMB 612.1 billion. Television and newspaper ad revenue grew 3.4% and 12.6% respectively, while film media saw several-fold growth. Six major regions contributed 81.3% of national revenue, up 0.5 percentage points from 2025.

In the first half of 2026, leading advertising enterprises and institutions nationwide generated revenue of RMB 1.037 trillion, up 11.3% year on year. Data from the State Administration for Market Regulation show that the advertising industry maintained overall growth.

Internet advertising revenue reached RMB 612.1 billion, up 25.3% year on year, accounting for 86% of total advertising revenue. Television and newspaper advertising revenue stood at RMB 19.88 billion and RMB 1.22 billion respectively, up 3.4% and 12.6% year on year. Film media advertising revenue achieved several-fold growth.

The combined advertising revenue of six provinces and municipalities – Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian – totalled RMB 843.21 billion, up 12% year on year, representing 81.3% of the national total, an increase of 0.5 percentage points from the same period in 2025.
