China's August Industrial Value Added Rises 5.2% Year on Year
China's value-added industrial output above the designated size grew 5.2% year on year in August 2026, 0.7 percentage points faster than the previous month, and rose 0.54% month on month, the National Bureau of Statistics said. Output of lithium-ion batteries, industrial robots and 3D printing equipment climbed 57.2%, 34.6% and 29.9% respectively, with equipment and high-tech manufacturing expanding rapidly.

By product, output of lithium-ion batteries, industrial robots and 3D printing equipment grew 57.2%, 34.6% and 29.9% year on year respectively.
Fu Linghui, spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics, said at a State Council Information Office press conference on September 15, 2026, that equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing grew rapidly in August 2026, with industrial robot output up 34.6% year on year and 3D printing equipment and lithium-ion battery output up 29.9% and 57.2% respectively.
