At the 2026 China International Big Data Industry Expo in Guiyang, a report showed China's data industry reached RMB 6.78 trillion in 2025, a 15.7% year-on-year increase. By end-2025, data enterprises nationwide totaled 482,000, up 17.9%. As of August 2026, over 126,000 high-quality datasets had been built, with total data volume exceeding 1,815 PB.
The 2026 China International Big Data Industry Expo opened on August 28 in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. At the event, the China Data Industry Development Report (2026) revealed that in 2025, the country's data industry reached RMB 6.78 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%. As of the end of 2025, the number of data enterprises nationwide stood at 482,000, up 17.9% year on year.
The report also showed that data enterprises in areas such as large models, synthetic simulation data, and embodied intelligence data services have seen active financing. As of August 2026, the country had cumulatively built more than 126,000 high-quality datasets, with total data volume exceeding 1,815 PB.
