In H1 2026, China's digital industry revenue rose 13.6% year on year to RMB 20.71 trillion, with growth accelerating by 4.1 percentage points from 2025 and 0.7 points from Q1, data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed. Profit increased 19.3% to RMB 1.79 trillion, driven by domestic AI demand and strong exports, with a profit margin of 8.6%, up 0.7 points from 2025.
In the first half of 2026, China's digital industry accelerated its development, with business revenue maintaining rapid growth. Data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed that the digital industry generated revenue of RMB 20.71 trillion in the first half, up 13.6% year on year. The growth rate accelerated by 4.1 percentage points from the same period in 2025 and by 0.7 percentage points from the first quarter.
During the same period, the digital industry's profitability continued to improve. Driven by both rising domestic demand for artificial intelligence and strong export momentum, the digital industry achieved total profit of RMB 1.79 trillion in the first half, up 19.3% year on year, with the growth rate accelerating by 10.3 percentage points from the same period in 2025. The profit margin on revenue reached 8.6%, up 0.7 percentage points from the same period in 2025.
