China's Economy Faces Weak Start to H2 2026 as Exports Hit International Pressure

On April 28, 2026, the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee convened a meeting to analyze and study the current economic situation and economic work. In deploying efforts to deeply tap domestic demand potential, the meeting proposed strengthening the planning and construction of water networks, new-type power grids, computing power networks, next-generation communication networks, urban underground pipeline networks, and logistics networks—collectively referred to as the "six networks" plan.

Against this backdrop, the authorities are advancing large-scale infrastructure investment and construction as an alternative path to expanding domestic demand.
