China's MIIT Targets 9,800 EFLOPS by 2030, RMB 3.8 Trillion Investment
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology proposed in the 15th Five-Year Plan for the information and communications industry that intelligent computing power reach 9,800 EFLOPS by 2030. The plan specifies information infrastructure investment of RMB 3.8 trillion from 2026 to 2030 and the construction of computing clusters with 10,000 or more accelerator cards per cluster, with some clusters reaching 100,000 or more accelerator cards.
As of the end of June 2026, China's intelligent computing power was 2,185 EFLOPS, up 177% year on year. The country had 52 facilities with more than 10,000 accelerator cards.
