Guangdong AI Core Industry Exceeds 300 Billion Yuan, Up 40%
Guangdong's AI core industry scale surpassed RMB 300 billion by end of 2025, a year-on-year increase of over 40%, representing one quarter of the national total. Applications span smart manufacturing at TCL, Haitian Weiye's aroma detection, and Mouldpro's dual-line automation. Production efficiency gains include 99.8% quality pass rate, 30% shorter lead times, and 47% lower water and electricity costs in agriculture. The province issued an AI action plan in April 2025.
At TCL's smart television production base in Huizhou, Guangdong, an artificial intelligence brain coordinates production scheduling, while automated guided vehicles and robotic arms operate in sequence. Televisions enter a sealed light corridor for quality inspection, with inspection data displayed rapidly. Zhao Dali, general manager of TCL Industrial's Large Display Manufacturing Management Platform, said the smart production line is more efficient and the quality pass rate is stable at over 99.8%.
At the soy sauce brewing workshop of Foshan-based Haitian Weiye, an AI "electronic nose" inspects soy sauce samples bottle by bottle. Huang Shuliang, chief digitalization engineer of Haitian Weiye, explained that by using self-developed aroma collection equipment and sensor arrays, the company converts sensory experience into digital models and builds a soy sauce aroma omics library. In Dongguan, Mouldbro Technology relies on an intelligent platform that allows one operator to manage two production lines. Site manager Li Yun said that process data used to be stored in the minds of veteran workers, but now is entered into the system, so young workers can take up posts after brief training, reducing average production lead time by 30%.
At Yizumi's digital factory in Foshan, injection molding machines of different specifications are mixed on the production line, and parts of various models are delivered accurately by automated guided vehicles. Zhou Jun, chief technology officer of Yizumi, said the key to building a fully intelligent, flexible mixed-line production system is digital transformation, after which the factory's production cycle and operating costs both decreased by over 30%. At XAG's super farm in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, agricultural drones skim at 8 meters per second, completing aerial seeding over 300 mu (20 hectares) of land in 30 minutes. Gong Jiaqin, co-founder of XAG, explained that relying on the "farm brain," two people can manage 3,000 mu (200 hectares) of experimental fields, with water and electricity costs per mu dropping 47% and pesticide use reduced by 30%.
At the showroom of CliTe Cloud Technology in Dongguan Fenggang, a pair of AI glasses weighing only 23.9 grams looks similar to ordinary glasses. Founder Zhang Jiawei said that with the glasses, hearing-impaired people can "hear" sounds through speech-to-text conversion, and visually impaired people can "see" the world through real-time voice navigation. At Shenzhen Nanshan's Jike Technology exhibition area, an AI exoskeleton weighing 2 kilograms attracted attention. Founder Sun Kuan said that in May 2025, an expedition team wearing Jike's exoskeleton successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest.
By the end of 2025, Guangdong's AI core industry scale exceeded RMB 300 billion, a year-on-year increase of over 40%, accounting for one quarter of the national total. In April 2025, Guangdong issued an action plan to accelerate high-level AI applications across all domains, covering seven directions and 63 key tasks, painting a broader picture for AI empowerment.
