Guangdong Jan-Jul Foreign Trade Up 20.5% to RMB6.49 Trillion; July Exceeds Trillion Again
Guangdong's foreign trade totalled RMB6.49 trillion in the first seven months of 2026, up 20.5% year on year, accounting for 21.6% of the national total and contributing 24.9% to national growth. Exports rose 10.8% to RMB3.8 trillion, while imports surged 37.4% to RMB2.69 trillion, narrowing the trade surplus by 24.5% to RMB1.11 trillion. In July alone, trade exceeded RMB1 trillion for a second consecutive month, reaching RMB1.01 trillion, up 19%.
In the first seven months of 2026, Guangdong's total foreign trade import and export value reached RMB6.49 trillion, up 20.5% from the same period in 2025, accounting for 21.6% of the national total and contributing 24.9% to the growth of national foreign trade. The province continued to rank first in the country in terms of trade scale. Among them, exports were RMB3.8 trillion, up 10.8%; imports were RMB2.69 trillion, up 37.4%; the trade surplus was RMB1.11 trillion, narrowing by 24.5%.
On a monthly basis, from January to July 2026, Guangdong's import and export scale maintained double-digit growth in each month. In July alone, Guangdong's imports and exports reached RMB1.01 trillion, up 19%, marking the second consecutive month above the trillion-yuan threshold after June's historic first breakthrough. Among them, July exports were RMB582.48 billion, up 7%; imports were RMB423.46 billion, up 40.7%.
