High-Tech Industry Investment Up 5% in Jan-Jul; Electronic Circuit Manufacturing Jumps 57.7%

China's high-tech industry investment rose 5% year on year in the first seven months, accelerating 0.4 percentage points from the first half and contributing 0.5 points to overall investment growth, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. High-tech manufacturing investment grew 3.3%, led by electronic circuit manufacturing (up 57.7%) and lithium-ion batteries (up 23%). High-tech services investment rose 8.4%, with information services up 19.2%. Intellectual property product investment climbed 9.1% to 14.8% of total investment. Internet and related services investment surged 41.3%, while mining investment rose 3.3% and equipment manufacturing 1.1%.

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that from January to July, investment in high-tech industries rose 5% year on year, accelerating by 0.4 percentage points from the first half of the year and contributing 0.5 percentage points to overall investment growth. The data reflects sustained growth in investment in emerging industries.

Investment in high-tech manufacturing rose 3.3%, with electronic circuit manufacturing up 57.7%, integrated circuit manufacturing up 11.5%, lithium-ion battery manufacturing up 23%, and electronic special materials manufacturing up 9.4%. Investment in high-tech services rose 8.4%, with information services investment up 19.2%, accelerating by 3.7 percentage points.

From January to July, national investment in intellectual property products rose 9.1%, accounting for 14.8% of total investment, up 2.1 percentage points from the same period in 2025. Investment in equipment purchases maintained relatively fast growth, with internet and related services investment up 41.3%, air transport investment up 15.7%, water transport investment up 16.2%, and power supply investment up 16%.

In industrial investment, mining investment rose 3.3%, and equipment manufacturing investment rose 1.1%, of which railway, ship, aerospace and other transport equipment manufacturing investment rose 18.7%, and computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing investment rose 7.8%, accelerating by 1.3 percentage points from the first half.
