Industrial Medium- and Long-Term Loans Reach RMB 27.81 Trillion at End-Q2 2026, Up 5.9% YoY
As of end-June 2026, China's industrial medium- and long-term loans stood at RMB 27.81 trillion, up 5.9% year on year, with an increase of RMB 1.21 trillion in the first half. Total RMB loans across all sectors reached RMB 282.63 trillion, up 5.2% year on year. Heavy industry loans grew 4.9% to RMB 23.45 trillion, while light industry loans rose 11.3% to RMB 4.36 trillion.
As of the end of the second quarter of 2026, the balance of RMB loans of all financial institutions stood at RMB 282.63 trillion, up 5.2% year on year, with an increase of RMB 10.72 trillion in the first half of the year. The balance of domestic and foreign currency medium- and long-term industrial loans reached RMB 27.81 trillion, up 5.9% year on year, a growth rate 0.8 percentage points higher than that of total loans, with an increase of RMB 1.21 trillion in the first half. Among these, the balance of medium- and long-term loans to heavy industry was RMB 23.45 trillion, up 4.9% year on year; the balance of medium- and long-term loans to light industry was RMB 4.36 trillion, up 11.3% year on year.
