JAXA Delays H3 Rocket No. 9 Launch to August 10 Due to Typhoon 13
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) announced on August 7 that the launch of H3 rocket No. 9, postponed due to the effects of Typhoon 13, will be conducted on August 10 at the Tanegashima Space Center in Minamitane-cho, Kagoshima Prefecture. The rocket carries the Quasi-Zenith Satellite "Michibiki No. 7," which forms part of Japan's version of the Global Positioning System (GPS).
The launch preparation window is set for August 11 through August 31, as well as September 3 through September 30. The original launch date before the rescheduling was August 7. Mitsubishi Electric publicly unveiled the satellite in December 2025 in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
