At a State Council Information Office press conference on August 26, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reported that during China's 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), the value-added output of industrial enterprises above a designated size grew at an average annual rate of 5.9%. Total manufacturing value-added output rose from RMB 26.5 trillion in 2020 to RMB 34.7 trillion, maintaining a share of about 25% of GDP. The data underscore the continued expansion and quality improvement of China's manufacturing sector.

On August 26, the State Council Information Office held a press conference under the theme series 'Getting Off to a Good Start for the 15th Five-Year Plan.' Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology briefed the media on efforts to implement the 15th Five-Year Plan and accelerate the advancement of new industrialization. Data released at the conference showed that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's manufacturing sector continued to scale new heights in both size and quality, with the value-added output of industrial enterprises above a designated size growing at an average annual rate of 5.9%.
