China Allocates 755 Billion Yuan of 2026 Central Budget, Boosting Livelihood Spending

The 755 billion yuan of central budget investment for 2026 has been largely allocated. At a press conference on July 31, the National Development and Reform Commission stated that the investment adheres to the close integration of investment in physical assets and investment in people, further increasing government investment in livelihood sectors.

In terms of emergency rescue and disaster relief, since the start of the flood season in 2026, the NDRC has urgently allocated 14 batches of central budget investment totaling 750 million yuan to support disaster-affected areas in post-disaster emergency restoration of infrastructure and public service facilities. In terms of work-for-relief programs, 39.5 billion yuan has been allocated in 2026, implementing more than 7,800 projects, attracting and driving 1.5 million workers, with per capita income increase of more than 10,000 yuan.
