Pentagon Acquisition Chief Duffy Urges Congress to Approve USD 1.5 Trillion Fiscal 2027 Defense Budget

Duffy, the US deputy under secretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment, recently called on Congress in an interview to approve the Trump administration's USD 1.5 trillion defense budget for fiscal year 2027 as soon as possible, so that the US military can replenish its stockpiles of critical weapons and ammunition.

Duffy said the Defense Department has already signed relevant procurement contracts with defense contractors and is waiting for funding to arrive to meet the needs of warfighters. The Pentagon will work with Congress over the coming months to ensure that all defense programs receive full funding.
