Saudi Arabia to Invest EUR6 Billion in Three Paris Theme Parks, Including Dragon Ball
Saudi Arabia announced in August 2026 plans to invest EUR6 billion (about HK$54.8 billion) to build three theme parks near Paris, one of which will be themed on the Japanese manga Dragon Ball. The plan was unveiled at the Elysée Palace during a visit by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the park will be located near Cergy-Pontoise, northwest of Paris. Saudi entertainment and investment group Qiddiya will fund the project. Themes for the other two parks remain undecided.
In August 2026, Saudi Arabia announced plans to invest EUR6 billion (about HK$54.8 billion) to build three theme parks on the outskirts of Paris, one of which will be themed on the popular Japanese manga Dragon Ball, while themes for the other two have yet to be determined. The Elysée Palace announced the plan during a visit to Paris by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with the two countries agreeing to build the manga-themed park near Cergy-Pontoise, northwest of Paris.
Saudi entertainment and investment group Qiddiya will provide financial backing for the project. The idea originated during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Saudi Arabia in 2025, when he and the Crown Prince discovered a shared passion for Dragon Ball Z.
The Dragon Ball park will be one of the largest theme park development projects in Europe, although many key details remain to be finalised, including the themes of the other two theme parks.
