Suzhou's Above-Scale Industrial Output Hits RMB 2,921.45 Billion, Up 7.1% in Jan-Jul 2026
Suzhou's industrial enterprises above designated size generated RMB 2,921.45 billion in total output value in the first seven months of 2026, up 7.1% year on year. Value-added output rose 9.4%, accelerating 0.1 percentage point from the first half. The top five industries contributed 60.3% of output, up 0.6 points, with electronics, electrical machinery, special equipment, and pharmaceuticals all growing over 10%. High-tech manufacturing surged 11.3%, contributing 58.7% of growth, while robot output soared. Profits of above-scale firms increased 11.7% in the first half.
From January to July 2026, Suzhou's industrial enterprises above designated size achieved a total output value of RMB 2,921.45 billion, up 7.1% year on year. The value-added output of these enterprises rose 9.4% year on year, with the growth rate accelerating by 0.1 percentage point from the first half of the year. Key industries and enterprises provided notable support. The five largest industries together generated output of RMB 1,761.84 billion, an increase of 8.8% year on year, accounting for 60.3% of total above-scale industrial output, up 0.6 percentage points from the same period last year. Among them, output in the electronic information, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing, and special equipment manufacturing sectors rose 10.0%, 10.5% and 10.1% respectively. Driven by the release of demand for innovative drugs, the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector grew 10.4%. In the same period, the output of the top 100 industrial enterprises rose 9.3% year on year, contributing 3.0 percentage points to the growth of total above-scale industrial output. Industrial upgrading continued to advance. Output of high-tech manufacturing above designated size rose 11.3% year on year, contributing 58.7% of the growth in total above-scale industrial output. Benefiting from the development of the 'artificial intelligence plus' initiative, production of integrated circuits, optical fibers and electronic components increased by 15.0%, 14.0% and 12.0% respectively, while service robot and industrial robot output jumped by 192.4% and 30.5%. In addition, total profits of above-scale industrial enterprises rose 11.7% year on year in the first half of 2026.
