China Raises Typhoon Defense Response to Level 2 as Zhejiang Ports Halt Operations

On August 8, the Ministry of Transport raised its typhoon defense response to Level 2. In light of the typhoon's trajectory and development, the Zhejiang Maritime Safety Administration has activated a Level 1 typhoon emergency response for Zhejiang's coastal waters. Coastal vessels are conducting inspections of key facilities and equipment to complete typhoon preparedness. At present, all production operations at Zhejiang's coastal ports have ceased, and all 162 passenger ferry routes and 316 passenger vessels across the province have suspended service.
