US Federal Deficit $1.8 Trillion in First 10 Months of Fiscal 2026, Revenue Up 3%, Spending Up 5%
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the US federal budget deficit totaled $1.8 trillion in the first 10 months of fiscal 2026, $169 billion higher than the deficit in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
During the period, federal revenue increased by $139 billion, or 3%, while federal spending rose by $308 billion, or 5%.
