A poll released by Canadian authorities on September 5 showed that approximately 85% of Canadian respondents supported the government's decision to reject the terms proposed by the US, while only about 12.2% opposed it.
About 80% of respondents backed retaliatory measures against the US, the highest level on record. The poll also indicated that 74% of Canadian respondents do not consider the US a trustworthy ally.
