US July 2026 Import Volume Rose 3% Month on Month, Fell 5% Year on Year

US-bound import data showed cargo arrivals in July 2026 edged up 3% month on month and fell 5% year on year. The front-loading wave seen from May to June slowed in July.

The first Section 301 tariff formally took effect before the Section 122 tariff expired, with the new rate broadly in line with the expiring Section 122 tariff rate.
