34 of 94 ChiNext Stocks Post Lower Shareholder Counts; Anuoqi Leads 13.95% Decline
As of August 10, 94 ChiNext-listed companies had disclosed their latest shareholder counts, with 34 reporting declines from July 31 and 52 posting increases. Anuoqi led the decliners with a 13.95% drop in shareholder numbers. Stocks with concentrated shareholding have averaged an 8.79% gain since August 1, led by Lianhe Chemical, Qiutianwei and Xinning Logistics.
As of August 10, a total of 94 ChiNext-listed companies had disclosed their latest shareholder counts. Compared with July 31, 34 stocks reported lower shareholder numbers, five of which saw declines exceeding 5%, while 52 stocks posted month-on-month increases. A decline in shareholder count is generally viewed as a signal of increasing ownership concentration.
Among the stocks with the largest declines in shareholder count, Anuoqi had 50,117 shareholders as of the latest period, down 13.95% from the previous period. Since the ownership concentration, the stock has fallen 1.41% cumulatively, with a cumulative turnover rate of 52.00% and net main-capital outflows of RMB 122 million. Shouhua Gas had 16,813 shareholders, down 9.28% from the previous period, and has risen 11.57% cumulatively since the concentration, with a cumulative turnover rate of 24.50%. Quantong Education had 34,680 shareholders, down 7.57% from the previous period, with the share price down 1.36% since the concentration and cumulative turnover of 52.82%.
Some stocks show a sustained trend of ownership concentration. Hualichuangtong had 77,276 shareholders as of the latest period, down for eight consecutive reporting periods with a cumulative decline of 16.35%. Jinmo Technology had 16,902 shareholders, down for five consecutive periods with a cumulative decline of 11.73%. Qiutianwei had 12,343 shareholders, down for five consecutive periods with a cumulative decline of 34.91%. In terms of cumulative declines, Qiutianwei, Hualichuangtong and Jinmo Technology rank at the top.
In terms of market performance, the latest batch of stocks with concentrated shareholding has averaged a gain of 8.79% since August 1, led by Lianhe Chemical, Qiutianwei and Xinning Logistics, which rose 48.71%, 38.09% and 19.25%, respectively. By industry, the concentrated-shareholding stocks are mainly in the computer, environmental protection and basic chemicals sectors, with five, four and four stocks, respectively.
On the capital front, as of August 11, eight of the concentrated-shareholding stocks saw leveraged capital increases. Among them, Qiutianwei, Anuoqi and Lianhe Chemical led in margin-balance increases since the concentration, up 9.75%, 7.65% and 6.47%, respectively. In terms of earnings, one of the latest concentrated-shareholding stocks has released its first-half earnings forecast, with the outlook indicating a projected profit.
