A-share major indices ended lower on July 30, with the STAR 50 Index plunging more than 5%. Total turnover reached 2.36 trillion yuan, expanding by 46.7 billion yuan from the previous trading day. Over 3,600 stocks declined. The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.62%, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 2.73%, and the ChiNext Index lost 3.97%. The consumer staples sector bucked the downtrend, led by food and beverage stocks. Zhongji Innolight recorded a historic turnover of 59.773 billion yuan, while Delight surged to the daily limit up.

By sector, the consumer staples sector continued to show strength, with the food and beverage segment leading gains. Stocks such as Jinhui Liquor, Shede Spirits, Haixin Food, Yiming Food, Junyao Health, and Xi'an Catering hit their daily limit up. The AI application side remained active, with Chuanzhi Education hitting four consecutive limit-ups and Pulin Software reaching the 20% limit up. The MLCC concept fluctuated higher, with Shuangxing New Materials hitting the limit up and Yunjia Technology touching the 20% limit up. The auto vehicle sector was also active, with JAC Motors hitting the limit up.
On the downside, the edge AI concept weakened, with Rockchip hitting the limit down, while StarChip Technology and Aojie Technology fell by more than 13%. The CPO concept fluctuated lower, with Dongshan Precision, Accelink Technologies, and Cambridge Industries all hitting the limit down.
Zhongji Innolight recorded a turnover of 59.773 billion yuan, surpassing the previous record of 58.32 billion yuan set on June 5, 2026. The stock once fell over 16% during the session before paring losses. Storage leader Delight saw its share price surge sharply in the afternoon, quickly hitting the limit up. After opening the limit, it hit the limit up again, closing at 390.04 yuan per share, with a total market capitalization of 88.479 billion yuan and turnover of 11.366 billion yuan.
