A-Share Indices Rise on Electronics and Nonferrous Metals Gains; Main Capital Net Inflow RMB 54.98 Billion

A-share benchmarks closed higher on August 5, with the Shanghai Composite up 1.47%, the Shenzhen Component Index up 1.86%, the ChiNext Index up 1.32%, and the CSI 300 up 1.24%. Main capital saw a net inflow of RMB 54.98 billion for the day, led by the electronics and nonferrous metals sectors, which rose 5.66% and 5.34%, respectively. A total of 3,724 stocks advanced, accounting for 67.33% of tradable shares, while 1,621 declined. Industrial Fulian posted the largest net inflow at RMB 4.39 billion.

On August 5, major A-share market indices rose collectively, with the Shanghai Composite Index gaining 1.47%, the Shenzhen Component Index rising 1.86%, the ChiNext Index adding 1.32%, and the CSI 300 Index increasing 1.24%. Among tradable A-shares that day, 3,724 stocks advanced, representing 67.33% of the total, while 1,621 stocks declined. In terms of capital flows, main capital across the entire market recorded a net inflow of RMB 54.98 billion for the full session, with the ChiNext board seeing a net inflow of RMB 8.04 billion, the STAR Market RMB 9.48 billion, and CSI 300 constituent stocks RMB 20.28 billion.

By sector, 26 of the Shenwan primary industries rose, with electronics and nonferrous metals leading the gains, up 5.66% and 5.34%, respectively. Telecommunications and banking posted the steepest declines, falling 1.65% and 1.14%, respectively. In terms of sector capital flows, 19 industries recorded net main-capital inflows that day. The electronics sector ranked first with a net inflow of RMB 31.32 billion, followed by nonferrous metals at RMB 12.87 billion, machinery and equipment at RMB 4.70 billion, and computers and power equipment at RMB 3.38 billion and RMB 1.71 billion, respectively.

Twelve industries saw net main-capital outflows. The media sector led outflows with RMB 1.86 billion net for the session, followed by food and beverage at RMB 1.15 billion, and pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, petroleum and petrochemicals, and public utilities at RMB 1.12 billion, RMB 1.11 billion, and RMB 638 million, respectively.

Among individual stocks, 2,455 saw net capital inflows for the day, of which 920 recorded net inflows exceeding RMB 10 million and 213 exceeded RMB 100 million. Industrial Fulian attracted the largest net inflow at RMB 4.39 billion, with its shares rising 9.99% that day. Zijin Mining and Hengtong Optic-Electric recorded net inflows of RMB 2.73 billion and RMB 2.02 billion, respectively. Fifty-nine stocks saw net outflows exceeding RMB 100 million, with ChangXin Memory Technologies, Eoptolink, and Zhongji Innolight posting the largest outflows of RMB 2.52 billion, RMB 1.97 billion, and RMB 1.65 billion, respectively.
