A-share tech stocks staged a broad rally on July 31, with the ChiNext Index surging 3.06% and the Sci-Tech Composite Index gaining 3.69%. The Shanghai Composite rose 0.72% and the Shenzhen Component added 2.21%. Over 4,600 stocks advanced, while total turnover increased by more than 2000 hundred million yuan from the previous session. Bank and high-dividend sectors adjusted, shifting market focus to the tech and innovation board.
On July 31, A-share tech stocks staged a broad rally, with the market showing a general uptrend. By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.72%, the Shenzhen Component Index added 2.21%, the ChiNext Index jumped 3.06%, and the Sci-Tech Composite Index gained 3.69%. Over 4,600 stocks advanced, while only about 700 declined. Total turnover increased by more than 2000 hundred million yuan from the previous trading day. Bank and other high-dividend sectors adjusted, and market attention shifted to the sci-tech board.
Stocks with daily turnover exceeding 10 billion yuan increased notably, with 26 stocks recording turnover above 10 billion yuan. Among them, Zhongji Xuchuang, Changxin Technology, Zhaoyi Innovation, Xinyisheng, and Dongshan Precision all saw turnover exceed 20 billion yuan. Changxin Technology's share price rose in the morning, hitting an intraday high of 60.60 yuan per share, a record since listing, before paring gains in the afternoon; its full-day turnover exceeded 50 billion yuan.
By Shenwan first-level industry classification, media, computer, conglomerates, communications, machinery and equipment, electronics, and social services sectors led gains. Several semiconductor and sci-tech theme ETFs recorded turnover exceeding 10 billion yuan and posted strong gains, including the China-Korea Semiconductor ETF (Huatai-PineBridge), Sci-Tech 50 ETF (China Asset Management), ChiNext ETF (E Fund), and Sci-Tech Semiconductor ETF (China Asset Management).
Some individual stocks saw late-session surges. Silin Zhiqu rallied strongly in the final minutes, closing up 14.04%. The stock had fallen 7.20% the previous day and still posted a cumulative decline of over 20% in July. Yibo Technology saw a sharp rally from 14:50, with its share price jumping more than 3% in a short period, closing up 10.84%; its July cumulative decline remained above 30%. *ST Jianyi experienced two distinct surges from 14:54 to the close, finishing up 8.50%; the stock has declined for two consecutive months, with a cumulative drop of 17.14% in July. *ST Xiangyou also staged a strong late-session rally, closing up 4.52%, and is down more than 40% year-to-date.
