A-Shares Open Higher, ChiNext Jumps Over 6%; Memory Chip, AI Computing Leasing Concepts Active
A-shares opened higher on July 31, with the Shanghai Composite up 1%, the ChiNext Index surging over 6%, and more than 4,500 stocks advancing. Memory chip stocks rallied, led by Changxin Technology, which gained over 13% and pushed its market cap above RMB 4 trillion. Computing power leasing and CPO concepts also saw strong gains. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index opened 0.72% lower while the Hang Seng Tech Index edged up 0.11%, with tech stocks mixed.
On July 31, all three major A-share indices opened higher. As of press time, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 1%, the Shenzhen Component Index climbed nearly 4%, the ChiNext Index surged over 6%, and the STAR Composite Index gained over 8%. More than 4,500 stocks across the market advanced. The memory chip sector opened sharply higher. Changxin Technology jumped over 13%, pushing its market capitalization above RMB 4 trillion. GigaDevice, Delming, and Taiji Industry all hit the 10% daily limit up. Puan Semiconductor, Beijing Ingenic, Biwin Storage, Jiangbo Long, and Dapu Micro all rose by more than 10%. The computing power leasing concept was active. Litong Electronics hit the 10% daily limit up. Hongjing Technology surged 20% to its daily limit, and Xiechuang Data gained over 16%. The CPO concept rebounded collectively: Eoptolink rose over 14%, Lianxun Instruments rose over 16%, and Tianfu Communication, Zhongji Innolight, Robotec, and Taichenguang all rose by more than 10%. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index opened 0.72% lower, while the Hang Seng Tech Index edged up 0.11%. Tech stocks were mixed. Alibaba gained nearly 4%, SMIC rose over 6%, GigaDevice climbed over 24%, and Zhipu surged over 27%. Tencent fell over 1.8%, and Xiaomi dropped over 8%.
