Amazon shares rose as much as 5.8% on Monday to an all-time high of $287.2, pushing its market capitalisation above $3 trillion for the first time. The company’s results, released last week, showed strong second-quarter cloud growth, driven chiefly by demand for artificial intelligence. Adjusted earnings per share for the period were $1.97, compared with an earlier estimate of $1.82, and operating revenue was $200.61 billion, ahead of the forecast $196.47 billion.
