Brent, WTI Futures Briefly Top USD 100 a Barrel; China Crude Above RMB 800
Recently, the prices of Brent crude oil futures and NYMEX WTI crude oil futures both briefly exceeded USD 100 a barrel, while the main contract of China's domestic crude oil futures stood above RMB 800 a barrel.
From the start of September 2026 through September 11, the cumulative gains in the main continuous contracts for Brent crude oil futures and WTI crude oil futures both exceeded 17%. Over the same period, the US-Iran conflict spilled over, shipping channels were disrupted, and global crude oil inventories continued to decline.
The price movements described above involved international crude oil futures and the main contract of domestic crude oil futures.
