China Life Makes First Stock Connect Active-List Appearance in a Month, Posts HK$878 Million Net Sell
China Life Insurance made its first appearance in a month on the Stock Connect active-trading list on August 28, with turnover of HK$1.058 billion and net selling of HK$878 million. Active stocks under the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Connect schemes totaled HK$28.637 billion in turnover, accounting for 32.43% of the day's Stock Connect trading, with net selling of HK$203 million. China Life shares closed up 0.34%.
On August 28, active stocks under Stock Connect (including both Shanghai and Shenzhen schemes) recorded combined turnover of HK$28.637 billion, representing 32.43% of the day's total Stock Connect trading, with net selling of HK$203 million. Among the top active stocks by turnover, Tencent Holdings posted HK$5.363 billion, Zhipu HK$3.687 billion, and Kingboard Laminates HK$3.241 billion.
In terms of appearances on the active list over the past month, Alibaba-W, Tencent Holdings, SMIC, and Zhipu each appeared 23 times; Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable 22 times; Kingboard Laminates 21 times; Hua Hong Semiconductor 20 times; GigaDevice 19 times; MINIMAX-W 16 times; Shenghong Technology and Akeso each twice; and China Life once, marking its first appearance in a month. On the day, China Life's Stock Connect turnover reached HK$1.058 billion, with net selling of HK$878 million, while its shares closed up 0.34%.
On the net buying side for Stock Connect funds that day, Shenghong Technology recorded net buying of HK$454 million, Zhipu HK$341 million, Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable HK$296 million, Kingboard Laminates HK$217 million, GigaDevice HK$103 million, and Akeso HK$92 million. On the net selling side, China Life led with HK$878 million, followed by Alibaba-W at HK$381 million, Tencent Holdings at HK$144 million, SMIC at HK$142 million, Hua Hong Semiconductor at HK$81 million, and MINIMAX-W at HK$79 million.
