China Margin Financing Balance Rises to RMB2.64 Trillion on September 16
China's margin financing and securities lending balance rose to RMB2,636.801 billion on September 16, 2026, up RMB9.330 billion from the prior day. Margin purchases reached RMB169.491 billion, while securities lending volume fell to 74 million shares. Margin financing stood at RMB2,607.539 billion, or 2.65% of A-share free-float market capitalization, with 89 stocks exceeding a 10% ratio.
As of September 15, 2026, the market's margin financing and securities lending balance stood at RMB2,627.471 billion, an increase of RMB617 million from RMB2,626.854 billion on the previous trading day. Margin purchases in the Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen markets totaled RMB134.999 billion that day, compared with RMB130.251 billion on the previous trading day, while securities lending volume was 80 million shares, compared with 95 million shares on the previous trading day. On the financing side, 3,850 individual securities recorded margin purchases and 3,859 recorded margin repayments.
