CK Asset H1 Profit Up 38% to HK$8.68 Billion, CK Hutchison Up 6.4%, Shares Fall 8.3% and 6.8%

CK Asset Holdings' first-half net profit rose 38% to HK$8.68 billion, with an interim dividend of HK$0.41 per share, up 5%. CK Hutchison Holdings' underlying net profit climbed 6.4% to HK$12.59 billion, with an interim dividend of HK$0.7455 per share, up 5%. Shares of both companies slid in morning trade, with CK Asset down as much as 8.3% to HK$44.12 and CK Hutchison down 6.8% to HK$67.35.

Shares of CK Asset Holdings (01113) and CK Hutchison Holdings (00001) fell after the companies released their results. CK Asset dropped as much as 8.3% in intraday trading, touching a low of HK$44.12, while CK Hutchison fell as much as 6.8%, to a low of HK$67.35. As of 9:42 a. m. , CK Asset was trading at HK$45.06, down 6.3%, with turnover of HK$76.6 million. CK Hutchison was at HK$67.5, down 6.6%, with turnover of HK$240 million.

CK Asset reported interim net profit attributable to shareholders of HK$8.683 billion, up 38% year-on-year. Earnings per share were HK$2.48, and the interim dividend was HK$0.41 per share, up 5%. Underlying profit was HK$6.64 billion, up 4.9% year-on-year.

CK Hutchison reported underlying net profit of HK$12.592 billion for the first half, up 6.4% year-on-year. It declared an interim dividend of HK$0.7455 per share, up 5%.
