Gree H1 Net Profit Down 7.87% to RMB 13.278 Billion; A-Share Turnover at RMB 1.81 Trillion

Chinese A-share markets gave up afternoon gains on August 26, with financial, gold and industrial metal stocks leading gains. Total Shanghai-Shenzhen turnover came to RMB 1.81 trillion, down RMB 23.1 billion from the prior session, as more than 2,900 stocks rose and 14 funds gained over 3%. Separately, Gree Electric reported first-half revenue of RMB 89.398 billion, down 8.15% year on year, and net profit attributable to shareholders of RMB 13.278 billion, down 7.87%. The company will not pay an interim dividend; second-quarter net profit rose 18% quarter on quarter to RMB 7.195 billion.

On August 26, the market fell in the afternoon session, with gains narrowing. The financial sector remained strong throughout the day, while gold-related and industrial metal stocks both surged. Green power concepts recovered, and controlled nuclear fusion concepts were active throughout the day. On the downside, CRO (contract research organization) concepts consolidated. More than 2,900 stocks rose across the market, and total turnover on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses reached RMB 1.81 trillion, down RMB 23.1 billion from the previous trading day. Fourteen funds recorded daily gains exceeding 3%.

Gree Electric Appliances released its interim report for the first half of 2026, posting revenue of RMB 89.398 billion, down 8.15% year on year, and net profit attributable to shareholders of RMB 13.278 billion, down 7.87%. The company plans to temporarily refrain from paying cash dividends, issuing bonus shares, or converting capital reserves to share capital. The report showed second-quarter net profit of RMB 7.195 billion, compared with RMB 6.082 billion in the first quarter, representing a sequential increase of 18%.
