Hong Kong Stocks End Higher; Tech Index Up 1.57%, Xiaomi Surges 7%, Gold and Airline Stocks Gain

Hong Kong stocks closed higher on July 27, with the Hang Seng Index rising 0.98%, the Hang Seng Tech Index gaining 1.57%, and the Hang Seng State-owned Enterprises Index up 1.14%. Tech stocks mostly advanced, with Xiaomi surging over 7% and Meituan up 3%. Gold stocks also strengthened, led by Everest Gold which jumped 23.29%. Airline stocks gained, with China Southern Airlines rising over 6%.

On July 27, Hong Kong stocks closed with all three major indices rising. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.98%, the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 1.57%, and the Hang Seng State-owned Enterprises Index rose 1.14%.

In terms of sectors, hardware equipment, media, electrical equipment, machinery, banking, and medical equipment advanced; while oil and petrochemicals, semiconductors, coal, and power declined.
