In August 2026, 128 insurance institutions conducted 1,777 research visits to A-share listed companies, nearly doubling the previous month's total. The number of companies covered rose to 520 from 263 in July. In the first week of September, 61 firms received 145 visits, up from 32 firms the prior week. Research activity typically increases after interim earnings reports are released.

In August 2026, insurance funds significantly stepped up their research on A-share listed companies. Statistics show that 128 insurance institutions conducted research during the month, with total visits reaching 1,777, roughly doubling month on month. In terms of coverage, 520 listed companies received insurance fund research in August, nearly double the 263 in July. On average, about 16 companies were researched per trading day in August.

In the first week of September, the research momentum continued. From September 1 to 6, a total of 61 listed companies received insurance fund research, up sharply from 32 in the previous week; the total number of research visits reached 145, also increasing from the prior week.

The rise in research visits is linked to the disclosure schedule of listed companies. Before the release of interim reports, companies are in a quiet period, making it difficult to track their latest developments. After the interim reports are published, companies exit the quiet period and can resume normal communication, prompting insurance institutions to intensively follow up on the latest progress of various firms, leading to more research activity.

By industry, the companies researched by insurance institutions in August were concentrated in electronic components, healthcare equipment, industrial machinery, electrical components and equipment, communication equipment, integrated circuits, semiconductor materials and equipment, and electronic equipment and instruments. Among these, the electronic components industry received 205 insurance institution visits, healthcare equipment received 117, and industrial machinery received 106. In July, the industries attracting the most insurance fund research were communication equipment, electronic components, and integrated circuits, with 88, 77, and 77 visits, respectively.

Looking at individual stocks, among the top ten most-researched stocks in August, Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment (AMEC), Luxshare Precision, United Imaging Healthcare, and Shengyi Technology each received research visits from more than 20 insurance institutions. These four companies belong to the semiconductor materials and equipment, electronic components, healthcare equipment, and electronic components industries, respectively. Crystal Optech, a manufacturer of optoelectronic components whose products are used in smartphones, automotive optoelectronics, and augmented reality and virtual reality applications, newly entered the insurance fund research list in August.
