Insurers Step Up Research on Telecom, Chip Firms; Huatai Asset Leads With 44 Visits
Chinese insurers and insurance asset managers have intensified research on listed companies in communication equipment, integrated circuits and electronic components over the past month. Since July, 32 insurance asset managers and 87 insurers have conducted company research. Huatai Asset led with 44 visits, followed by Taikang Asset with 41. Communication equipment drew the most attention with 88 institutions, while integrated circuits and electronic components each attracted 77. Gold-related firms also gained interest, with gold bar and coin consumption rising 28.42% year on year in the first half of 2026.
Over the past month, insurance companies and insurance asset management companies have intensively researched listed companies in communication equipment, integrated circuits, electronic components and other sectors. On a month-on-month basis, attention to communication equipment companies has increased notably. Since July, 32 insurance asset managers and 87 insurers have participated in listed company research, covering multiple industries.
Leading insurance capital institutions have maintained high research activity. Taiping Pension, China Life Pension and Ping An Pension ranked among the top with 31, 25 and 24 research visits respectively, covering multiple stocks. Huatai Asset was the most active insurance asset manager in July with 44 visits, followed by Taikang Asset with 41, which focused on stocks including Zhongji Innolight and Zhongfu Industrial.
By industry, communication equipment drew the most attention with 88 insurance capital institutions conducting research, while integrated circuits and electronic components tied for second with 77 each. In June, only 22 insurance capital institutions researched communication equipment companies, but July saw a sharp increase. In addition, insurance capital also intensively researched listed companies in metals, non-metals and Western medicine.
Since July, insurance capital has increased attention to gold-related companies, with Caibai and Chow Tai Seng among those researched. In the first half of 2026, gold bar and coin consumption rose 28.42% year on year, reflecting strong gold investment demand. The industry has launched digital traceability solutions for gold bars, allowing consumers to scan a QR code on the bar surface to access quality inspection information including origin, quality and purity.
