At 10 a. m. , the Nikkei stood at 66,367.50, up 760.79 points from the previous close, while the TOPIX rose 5.85 points to 4,080.78. Semiconductor and AI-related shares, including Advantest, led gains, and Recruit Holdings advanced after reporting solid earnings.

Semiconductor test equipment maker Advantest and other artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor-related stocks rose notably. Recruit Holdings, which reported solid earnings, also attracted buying, lifting the market.
