Nvidia to Sell RTX 50-Series Cards Directly at PAX West 2026
Nvidia will sell its RTX 5070, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 graphics cards directly to attendees at PAX West in Seattle, Washington, in September 2026, bypassing typical retail channels. The move comes amid widespread market premiums and supply constraints. Founder's Edition cards will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Against a backdrop of widespread premiums in the graphics card market and difficulty for gamers to purchase discrete cards at standard prices through conventional channels, this supply will cover three models: the RTX 5070, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090.
Due to multiple factors, including tight supply chains and spillover demand from artificial intelligence computing, non-reference graphics cards are priced significantly higher. In retail channels, the non-reference RTX 5070 is priced at approximately USD 850, the RTX 5080 starts above USD 1,600, and the RTX 5090 has already surpassed USD 5,000 in actual transaction prices.
Jacob Freeman, Nvidia's GeForce brand evangelist, confirmed that during the event, Founder's Edition cards will be sold directly on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. The booth will also offer limited quantities of GeForce-themed trading cards simultaneously.
